UNIS CO2 Lab AS.

A new research program for 2012-2013 is under development. This program will cover:
  • Subsurface control on geological injectivity  parameters
  • Micro-seismic and seismic imaging
  • Rock mechanics
  • Flow paths in unconventional reservoir
  • Reservoir and flow model predictability
  • Leakage and permafrost
  • National & international networking & integrating projects
  • Outreach
The project will provide spinoffs from basic research in form of:
  • Education (courses for master and PhDs)
  • Understanding of Enigmatic under-pressure

UNIS CO2-lab AS was registered in Brønnøysundregisteret (www. Brreg.no) on the 12.01.2012. The aim of the company is to run externally financed research and development (R&D) projects related to cleaning and storing CO2.

At the start of 2012 UNIS C02-lab AS.; has 6 boreholes, of which 4 is being used for reservoir characterisation by monitoring of liquid flow, subsurface instrumentation and modelling of reservoir size, behaviour and leakage aspects.
In addition a basis is being made for the development of Long-yearbyen well park from 2013 and onwards, which will become an attractive site for international cooperation.
