Ph.D. and Post Doc in CO2 storage

The Department of Arctic Geology at UNIS and Uni CIPR (a Norwegian Centre of Excellence located at University of Bergen) are jointly seeking creative and highly motivated persons to fill one Post Doc and one Ph.D. position.

The Post Doc research will address structural analysis of tight CO2 reservoirs; whereas the Ph.D. project will centre on developing reservoir modeling methods for CO2 storage sites. Both positions are attached to the project "Geological input to Carbon storage: from outcrop to simulator (GeC)" and are funded for 3 years by the Norwegian Research Council's CLIMIT program. The GeC project is based on a close partnership with the Longyearbyen CO2 lab project; a joint research effort by academia and industry addressing CO2 sequestration.

The Post Doc will be located in Longyearbyen, Svalbard; the Ph.D. student will be stationed at CIPR in Bergen.

Application deadline: March 25, 2010
